UEFA Disciplinary Database

FootballFines brings together recorded fines and sanctions from UEFA club competitions. You can explore the records by match, club, competition, season and type of offence.

FootballFines is an independent project. It is not an official UEFA website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by UEFA.

Sources

The database draws on UEFA disciplinary decisions and updates, together with the relevant UEFA regulations. Match details are supplemented with UEFA match information.

Official publications are available through UEFA’s disciplinary website and UEFA’s document library. The official decision remains the authoritative source for the wording, scope and conditions of a sanction.

Coverage

The database currently focuses on the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League and UEFA Super Cup. Available records vary by competition and season, and coverage is being expanded.

The presence of a season or match does not mean that every related disciplinary decision has been entered. An empty sanctions list means that no sanctions are recorded in this database; it does not establish that UEFA imposed none.

How records are prepared

Decision information is organised into records linked to matches and clubs. Offence names may be standardised so that similar sanctions can be grouped and compared. The wording of a category can therefore differ from the wording in the original decision.

Match details and disciplinary records are updated separately. A confirmed final score does not mean that all disciplinary decisions relating to the match have already been published or entered.

Understanding the figures

Fine totals represent monetary amounts recorded in FootballFines. They do not include a monetary value for warnings, suspensions, stadium restrictions or other non-financial measures.

Sanction counts reflect the records stored in the database. A decision can group several offences under one sanction or one combined fine. Counts should therefore not be read as a count of individual incidents or people.

Conditions such as probation periods and suspended measures matter when interpreting a decision. Comparisons also depend on the scope and completeness of the available records.

Regulations and subsequent decisions

Links to regulations provide reference material. Where a newer edition is available, a link may point to that edition rather than the rules in force on the date of the match. Consult the original decision and the relevant historical edition when checking the legal basis.

Appeals and later decisions can change the outcome of a case. Updates may take time to appear in FootballFines. For the current official position, consult UEFA’s publications.

Using the database

FootballFines is intended as a research and reference resource. When citing a record, include the match, competition, season and the official source where available. Check the original publication before relying on a figure or interpretation.
