About this notice

FootballFines.com is an independently operated database. This notice explains how information is used when you visit the website. For privacy questions or requests concerning this website, email privacy@footballfines.com.

Operating the website

Your browser sends information such as your IP address, requested page and browser information to the services delivering the website. This information is processed to provide the website, diagnose problems and protect it from misuse. The website is hosted through Mijndomein and uses a content delivery subdomain for images and other resources. Hosting logs and backups may contain technical request information.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to retrieve these resources. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about its processing.

Website statistics

We use our own statistics system to understand visits and improve the website. It records page addresses and titles, visit times, browser and operating system, device type and, when available, device model. It also records referring website hostnames, search engines and available search terms, and an estimated country and city. Location estimates are approximate and are not GPS locations.

A temporary identifier stored in your browser helps us group page views within a visit. It normally expires when you close the browser tab. A protected hash of the identifier is saved in our statistics database to group page views. The page-view table does not store raw IP addresses; IP addresses may still be processed for location estimation and in hosting logs. These records are not described as fully anonymous.

The statistics system is separate from Google’s advertising controls. Changing an advertising consent choice does not currently switch off this separate collector or delete previously saved page-view records. Contact us if you have a question or wish to object to this processing.

Advertising and cookies

The consent management platform is managed by Google, complies with IAB TCF and uses CMP ID 300.

FootballFines.com uses Google AdSense. Google and other advertising providers may use cookies and similar technologies to select and measure advertisements, including personalised advertising based on previous visits to this website and other websites. Information used may include online identifiers, IP address, browser and device information and interactions with advertisements.

Where an advertising consent message is shown, you can accept, refuse or manage the purposes and providers listed in that message. Refusing personalised advertising does not necessarily remove all advertisements. The message contains further details about participating providers and their processing.

Read how Google uses information from sites and apps using its services, Google’s cookie information, and Google’s advertising controls.

Managing your choices

When available, use Cookie settings at the bottom of the website to reopen the advertising consent message. You can withdraw consent or change your choices there. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.

You can also delete cookies and other website storage or restrict their use in your browser. Deleting saved choices may cause the consent message to appear again. Clearing browser storage does not delete information already stored on our servers.

This page includes the same advertising and club-following sidebar as the About page. You can manage advertising consent using Cookie settings below. The FootballFines page-view collector remains disabled on this privacy page.

Following clubs and push notifications

If you choose to follow clubs, their identifiers and a random device token are stored in your browser. If you also enable notifications, we store your browser's push subscription address, encryption keys, the clubs you follow, subscription dates and limited delivery status information. You do not need an account or provide your name or email address. These technical identifiers are not treated as anonymous information.

Push messages are delivered through the push service used by your browser or operating system, such as Google, Apple or Mozilla. Notification contents are encrypted for your subscription. Notifications may appear on your device's lock screen; you can control previews in your device settings.

You can turn off notifications in your browser settings. When you return to the website, we check this permission and remove the server subscription if notifications are no longer enabled. Unfollowing your last club also removes it. Invalid or expired subscriptions are removed after the push service reports them, and subscriptions are deleted after 180 days without being refreshed by a site visit. You can enable them again later. Followed clubs remain in browser storage until you remove them or clear that storage. A temporary salted rate-limit identifier expires after 15 minutes and is used to limit subscription abuse.

Storage, service providers and retention

Website statistics are stored in the website’s database. The current statistics system has no automatic expiry for individual page-view records: they remain until deleted. The browser session identifier has a separate lifetime from these server-side records. Hosting logs and backups follow the hosting service’s configuration and retention arrangements. Contact us for questions about stored information or deletion.

Hosting and technical service providers process information needed to provide their services. Google and other advertising providers apply their own retention periods, explained in their privacy notices. They may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area; consult their notices for the applicable transfer arrangements and safeguards.

Privacy correspondence is used to respond to your request and keep a record of its handling. Please provide only the information needed for your request.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access to, correction or deletion of personal data concerning you, restriction of processing, or data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

Send requests to privacy@footballfines.com. We may need information to verify your identity and find the relevant records. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Updates

This notice may change as the website and its data practices develop. The date above identifies the latest revision.
